Hydrocolloid for Medical Grade Adhesive

Medical grade Hydrocolloid adhesive is ideal for surgical applications, medical device attachment, wound care, ostomy, and cosmetics. Hydrocolloid is a conformable, gel-like material that provides adhesion to the skin even in problematic areas of the body. Due to the occlusive nature of wound care hydrocolloids, moisture is captured beneath the dressing to promote healing. Hydrocolloid is Non-Skin sensitizing and does not traumatize the skin upon being removed. Most hydrocolloids are waterproof allowing patients to wear the adhesive for several days and allow for normal washing and bathing. The use of hydrocolloid adhesive provides many benefits.

Non-Skin Sensitizing

Hydrocolloids are solvent free, absorbent, and hypoallergenic. Hydrocolloid absorption prevents skin irritation by removing dead skin cells, perspiration, and oils that would otherwise remain trapped between the skin and adhesive, preventing maceration.

Medical Device Attachment

Amparo hydrocolloid medical grade adhesives stick well to the skin and remove easily. These medical adhesives also offer high shear, high tensile, and low peel properties. Amparo Medical’s extended wear formulations can attach a medical device for up to 2-weeks.
